MLK Day on Monday was a day off from work and school for lots of adults and kids. It was also an opportunity for ROAR Waconia (Residents Organized Against Racism) to share in an afternoon of crafts, games and books related to the life, activism and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The free event was held at Safari Island community center. The featured craft involved creating a mosaic joined hand wreath. The aim of each basketball shot and floor hockey goal was to learn a fact about the man whose life was celebrated on Monday.
