Facing two of the three top ranked teams in the state, the Stillwater boys hockey team came away with a split in back-to-back nonconference games against Hill-Murray and St. Thomas Academy at the St. Croix Valley Rec Center.

The ninth-ranked Ponies had their five-game winning streak snapped by third-ranked Hill-Murray in a 3-1 loss in front of an overflow crowd on Saturday, Jan. 25. Stillwater bounced back, however, with a stronger showing in a 4-2 triumph over No. 2-ranked St. Thomas Academy on Tuesday night.
