The worst part about growing up is learning that nothing can last forever. That lesson was taught to me once again on Christmas Eve, when Coon Rapids White Castle shut off the lights for the very last time.

While Riverdale Shopping Center sees its fair share of turnover, there are just some stores you expect to be there forever. McDonald’s will never leave. Costco and Target will be there until the sun burns out. Heck, even Famous Dave’s kept one pinky finger hanging on the cliff of obscurity and now you can get your over-cooked, over-sauced half rack to-go.
