Rain on May 31 didn’t dampen the spirits graduating seniors at St. Francis High School. The 110th graduation ceremony in the school’s history turned the tassels of 323 students and gave the class of 2024 — who started high school in the middle of a pandemic — the chance to celebrate in-person with their community.

“About four years ago, we walked through those doors and gazed across the cafeteria, wondering what life for the next four years would look like,” class speaker Phatee Yang said. “Our eighth grade spring break turned into a long summer break, and we came back to hybrid learning our freshman year. … As cliche as it sounds, we will define the world. In a world that can go deaf when people scream for help, we need to pierce through the silence.”
