CITY OF ANOKA, MINNESOTA NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL SPECIAL ELECTION To the electors of the City of Anoka, in the County of Anoka, Statement of Minnesota. Notice is hereby given that a Municipal Special Election will be held in all election precincts of the above-named City at: Precinct One: Green Haven Golf Course & Event Center 2800 Greenhaven Road Precinct Two: Green Haven Golf Course & Event Center 2800 Greenhaven Road Precinct Three: Green Haven Golf Course & Event Center 2800 Greenhaven Road Precinct Four: Zion Lutheran Church 1601 Fourth Ave Precinct Five: Anoka Senior Center 1500 6th Ave Precinct Six: Anoka City Hall 2015 First Ave Precinct Seven: Anoka Covenant Church 752 Grant Street Precinct Eight: Rum River Library 4201 5th Ave on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at which time the polls will be open from the hour of 7:00 a.m. to the hour of 8:00 p.m. for purpose of voting on the following City Question: Should Organized Solid Waste Collection Be Subject to Voter Approval? Should the Anoka City Charter be amended by adding the following language to the City Charter? Unless first approved by a majority of voters in a state general election, the City shall not replace the competitive market in solid waste collection with a system in which solid waste services are provided by government-chosen collectors in government- designated districts. The adoption of this Charter amendment shall supersede any ordinances, ordinance amendments, or Charter amendments related to solid waste adopted by the City Council after January 1, 2023. Amy T.
