CITY OF CALEDONIA, MINNESOTA NOTICE OF FILING DATES CANDIDATES FOR CITY MAYOR/COUNCIL Notice is hereby given that affidavits of candidacy for the offices of Caledonia mayor and City Council member may be obtained and submitted at the office of the City clerk-administrator, 231 East Main Street, Caledonia, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning Tuesday, July 31, 2018 and ending Tuesday, August 14, 2018, such offices to be voted upon at the General Election on November 6, 2018. Offices which will be open are: Mayor (1 vacancy) Council Member (2 vacancies) A candidate must: (a) be an eligible voter; (b) have no other affidavit on file as a candidate for any other office at the same general election; (c) be at least 21 years of age on assuming office; and (d) must have maintained residency in the City for 30 days before the General Election. Candidates shall pay a filing fee of $2.00 upon application for an affidavit of candidacy. A candidate for City elective office may withdraw from the election by filing an affidavit of withdrawal with the City clerk-administrator by 5:00 p.m. no later than two days after the last day for filing affidavits of candidacy.
