The Blaine City Council unanimously approved a new zoning ordinance amendment for cannabis regulations at the Jan. 22 meeting,

Community Development Director Erik Thorvig said the zoning ordinance provides for cannabis retail and medical cannabis under permitted uses in Blaine. The guidance from the City Council was given for registrations in the Community Commercial, Regional Commercial, Planned Business and County Road 10 mixed use districts.
