The Cambridge Fire Department, along with the Isanti Fire District, Braham Fire and Rescue and the Dalbo Fire Department, performed two training house burns on Saturday, Dec. 7, in the area north of Highway 95 and Opportunity Boulevard in Cambridge. These opportunities are used to train with real fire in a safe environment. The departments burned down two houses that were donated by Allina Health, with the help of Stacy-Lent training instructors. These “live fire” trainings were used as opportunities to watch fire grow and the flow paths, communication on scene with fire staff, and extinguishing fire. There were approximately 50 volunteer firefighters that participated in the trainings.
