Terms of Use

1.1 These Terms of Use apply to the use of any content published across the online platforms of the Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency (Rossiya Segodnya).

1.2 The following websites and apps (hereinafter the “Platforms”) are owned by Rossiya Segodnya:

1.3 Any use of the content published on the Rossiya Segodnya Platforms is regulated by Section 2 and Section 3 of these Terms of Use.

1.4 “Using content” means making copies (reproducing), disseminating, putting on public display, broadcasting on air, transmitting over a cable, making available to the general public, translating, rewriting or otherwise modifying, and using the content by other means as permitted by Russian law.

1.5 These Terms of Use apply to news agencies, online and print media outlets, other media outlets, subscribers to Rossiya Segodnya media products and services, individuals and legal entities.

2.1 Media content (text and graphics) owned by Rossiya Segodnya (content which includes the copyright notice “© Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency”) may be used on a non-paying basis (for non-commercial use only) without Rossiya Segodnya’s written consent, as stipulated in Section 3 of these Terms of Use.

2.2 Analytical materials and authors’ copyrighted materials (content which includes the copyright notice “© Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency”) may only be used upon Rossiya Segodnya’s written consent. Any modification of such content is prohibited; the content may only be used in its original form. For some analytical or authors’ copyrighted materials, only commercial use is permitted.

2.3 Other types of use

2.3.1 It is prohibited to use any photo, video and other audiovisual content published on the Platforms, whether owned by Rossiya Segodnya (content which includes the copyright notice “© Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency”) or by third parties.

2.3.2 Using any photo, video or other audiovisual content available on the Platforms and owned by Rossiya Segodnya (content which includes the copyright notice “© Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency”) requires signing an agreement on using such content on a fee-paying basis. The cost of using each item (work) shall be further agreed by the parties. In some circumstances, Rossiya Segodnya may permit the use of such content at no charge.

2.3.3 Those wishing to use any photo, video or other audiovisual content available on the Platforms and owned by third parties must contact the copyright holders of such content directly.

2.3.4 For inquiries concerning the use of content owned by Rossiya Segodnya (content which includes the copyright notice “© Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency”) on a fee-paying basis, or to sign an agreement and pay for use, please call the Business Development Directorate of Rossiya Segodnya: +7 (495) 645-65-02.

3.1 The user shall credit the source.

3.2 When using the content in a print media, attribution is mandatory and must contain a copyright sign (©), the copyright holder’s name or title, the author’s name and the source (the Rossiya Segodnya Platform where the content is published).

3.3 When reproducing the content in a media digest, attribution is mandatory and must contain a copyright sign (©), the copyright holder’s name or title, the author’s name and the source (the Rossiya Segodnya Platform where the content is published).

3.4 When reproducing the content on another online website, attribution is mandatory and must contain a copyright sign (©), the copyright holder’s name or title, the author’s name and a link to the source (the Rossiya Segodnya Platform where the content is published). The link must be located at the top of the article. The following tags shall be inserted around the copied content: <noindex>….</noindex>.

3.5 Reproducing any Rossiya Segodnya content received from third sources is only permitted if the copy includes attribution of the original source inserted as per clauses 3.1 to 3.4 of these Terms of Use.

3.6 The user shall reproduce the content accurately.

3.6.1 No modification of the original text (including changes that distort its meaning) is permitted when reproducing the content.

3.6.2 No modification of the original content (including changes that distort its meaning) is permitted when using it in a media digest.

3.6.3 The individual or legal entity using the content shall bear all responsibility for distorting the meaning of the content due to inaccurate reproduction.

3.7 It is prohibited to include messages which are identical to any Rossiya Segodnya content, in RSS feeds.

3.8 When using Rossiya Segodnya content in RSS feeds, it is prohibited to use a time stamp identical to or earlier than the time when the original content was released on a Rossiya Segodnya Platform.

Before publishing the content, the user shall obtain written consent from Rossiya Segodnya or sign an agreement to use the content on a fee-paying basis.

WARNING: Using the content in violation of these Terms of Use is against the law.

Rossiya Segodnya may change these Terms of Use at its sole discretion and without any further notice. The new version of the Terms of Use shall take effect upon their publication on the website at http://www.ria.ru/.
